New Delhi “Talks OOH” this December First of its kind event walking the regional route

New Delhi will be the first OOH market in India to witness an on-the-ground event that focuses on bringing the OOH community together regionally. It will prove to be a platform for organised interaction between the varied stakeholders of the industy when they get together in December this year. The event, organised by VJ Media Works, sponsored by Pioneer Publicity will be the first in a series of events planned for various markets to explore the potential of OOH advertising and the role for the outdoor advertising community in city infrastructure development.
“As a concept, 'Talks OOH' will be a series of events that will traverse regionally and bring together the stakeholders to talk specific issues plaguing the specific regionIt will be further be instrumental in consolidating the much fragmented natured OOH industry. And New Delhi is perhaps the best place to launch this event as it has a ready-for-implementation policy endorsed by the Supreme Court. Against that backdrop, an event like this would help all parties come together and compare & discuss agendas. This could help deliver better advertising funded infrastructure to the citizens, revenue to the various civic bodies and new business opportunities to the OOH community.” says Vasant Jante, Project Head & Publisher, VJ Mediaworks. So far industry-regulator interactions have mostly been of the reactive kind to discuss topical issues that need redressal. But with a considerable representation from the regulators side the event will sure extend itself to be a more intense and solution yeilding platform.
The agenda for the event is to enable a healthy and constructive debate on how the OOH community can participate in the various city infrastructure development initiatives of the authorities, to mutual benefit. An important component of the agenda would also be to discuss the role for the industry in getting the city geared up to host the Commonwealth Games next year.
“Of coursee, the Commonwealth Games will be an important part of the agenda.” explains Jante. “But the broader objective is to enable a conversation that will establish an ongoing working relationship between all interest groups in the situation. I think it is time that the industry and the regulators in all markets across the country get together to define and deliver on a mutually agreed upon objectives.”
Delhi “Talks OOH” will be held on 18th Dec 2009, at Intercontinatial, Nehru Place, Delhi
