Billboards in Kochi get a Deadline

The Kochi Corporation has set a deadline of October 3 to remove all illegal billboards in the city. According to Deputy Mayor C K Manishankar, the Corporation will remove all unauthorized billboards in the city unless they are regularized before September 30. The cost for removal of the structure will be recovered from the owners of the billboards. Cases would also be filed against them.

According to an order issued by the Finance Standing Committee of the Kochi Corporation, all billboards in the city must have a tag giving details of the permit number and date of issuance of the permit. The committee noted that only a few media owners have complied with this directive. The Corporation would insist on all billboards having the tags, Manishankar said.
